Here is the pen that I made in my latest turning project podcast. I discussed the parts and supplies needed in last week’s podcast available on The Renaissance Woodworker. The follow up video is compiling now and should be up on the site and iTunes within the hour.
This pen is made from some unique and stunning Buckeye Burl. I love this wood. Every time I turn it I am struck dumb by it’s beauty. A blank like this is why I turn pens!

Buckeye burl is one of my favorite stocks for pens also. Well done Shannon. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent work and great choice of wood. I’ve not used the buckeye Burl before, do you have a favorite supplier? Did you use micro mesh?
Thanks for posting,
Doug

Man, that is beautiful. If I learn to do this, any chance I could be struck smart?
Thanks for posting this!

Shannon,
That little bit of wood has a lot going on inside. Leads to a beautiful pen. I’ll be watching your vid over my lunch hour. :-)
