Finished! I completed carving him Friday and completed the painting this evening, so I should be able to ship him off for the contest tomorrow. My other entries did arrive and I shouldn’t have a problem getting this one there also. Whew! I started carving this guy last Monday, but I think he turned out OK. I painted his face and beard at carving club on Saturday morning and several of the guys were interested in getting rough outs, so I’m thinking about getting Heinecke to make some for me, rather than trying to do them myself. I’ll check and see what it will cost. This little guy is about 5 inches tall and the base is 3 1/2 inches. Thanks for looking!

Love the facial expression on this one a great deal. Certainly looks like a ‘jolly’ Santa. Well done!
