Some shapes lend themselves to other things, I was just along for the ride.

I wanted black and white, not light and dark. I used a 5” square x 12” long blank of kiln dried basswood for this.One way to find out if something will work is to try it and see. These will be my daily drivers in the kitchen to see how they hold up.

5” x 10 & 1/2”. Black and white Valspar rattle can paint followed up with Minwax spray poly. Crush Grind ceramic mill.

-- on Wednesday's I go shopping, and have buttered scones for tea...

Nice job Hairy, these look like they would sit very comfortably in the hand, the contrast adds to the result.
