Very basic cutting board. I had some flooring left over from my current renovation that I couldn’t let go to waste. It was decent red oak and I didn’t have enough to make a larger project. Half of it went to this cutting board and half went to a jewelry box for my brothers new to be wife.

waste not want not,

Paul

It’s not finished yet.

I’ll post it to my projects when it’s done.

did you use a planer? if so, any issues with the prefinished oak running through it? what did you do about the bottom “grooves”?

I used my jointer to take the bottom grooves off and get one flat side, then took the groove side of the tongue and groove joint off with my jointer using the face I flattened. Then on to the planer, the flooring I bought was un finished so there wasn’t anything different than planing normal lumber. Final side was done at the table saw.
