My wife wanted a writing desk

I’ve never worked with Mahogany before. I found it easy to work with except for the pits in the grain from cutting and planing. I now know why the grain in Mahogany is so often filled.

For the legs, I glued up 3 boards and configured an open dado for the “Z” joints. The legs are about 2.75” square and are plenty strong. We bought some small knobs for the drawers, but my wife preferred it without any knobs at all

Let me know what you think

Mike

Very nicely done I like it and may copy it for a desk for my recliner. Thanks for sharing.

Looks great, like the drawers with the drawer slides.

Might use this design for the bedside tables i am working on. I hope you wont mind it. :)
