Turned and Carved Wood Bowl

This is a lathe turned bowl I did for my wife. She wanted hand-carved oak leaves on the surface. I made patterns from leaves from our red oak tree in our yard. The leaves are carved in relief and accented with pyrography lines. Background around leaves is carved away and painted with acrylic paint. Final finish is lacquer that is buffed. Size is 10” in diameter by 8” in height. Wood is sycamore.

This is one of the most beautiful bowls I have ever seen. The work is outstanding. Wish I could have the patience to do this. Thanks for showing.
