A couple of Challenge Coin Holders made for the Patriot Woodworkers site’s annual event. All of the holders will be shipped to the brave men and women rehabbing at “Ward 57”.

A big thanks to AlBcuttnWud for the inspiration!

These are about 24” long and a little over 6” wide and a little more than 1” thick. Made from air dried walnut. Finish is Watco Danish oil and several applications of wax. The “island” is removable for shipping. “Black” brass plates for the recipient to personalize.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice, I am guessing that the coins just set in the grooves? Your wood color/finish was very nice. Thanks for sharing!

That is a really nice design. I would imagine the navy crowd would LOVE these. Beautiful wood too.

Dennis- Thanks! I was on the USS Constellation with VA-65 in 1966.

Jeff and Eric- Thanks! The walnut was a gift from a friend who found a pickup load in his mother-in-law’s garage.

Mike- Thanks! From the pictures I’ve seen, the coins do in fact set in the grooves. They didn’t have the coins when I was in the service.

Jay- Thanks! I’m hoping the are received well.

Hoss and Hillbilly- Thanks! Can’t take credit for the design- that was AlBcuttnWud’s idea.

Bob- Thanks! I know the folks over there would be glad to have you!

Dan- Me Too! I have never seen photos of any of the recipients of my holders. I really hope they like them.

Dean- Thanks! I hope they are please with them.

Thanks, Matt!

I am not exactly how a service person “earns” a coin but from the pictures I’ve seen, some have quite a few.

And… Thank You.
