This was a project that I was inspired to do based on another LJer’s post of a similar chalkboard.

I made mine out of black walnut. This was my first attempt at doing fluting on columns and the result was very good. I really enjoy the Dewalt compact router and now understand the value of having a smaller router to accompany my full sized router.

Its 39” tall and 25” wide. The joints are all half lap.

I think I’m going to add some key hooks at the bottom and call it complete.

Yep, routers make all the difference on this kinda project. Great job, you certainly raised the bar with this one.

”. . . Bless His holy name.” Psalm 103:1 or

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:”
Psalm 103:2 or

“Bless the LORD, all His works in all places of His dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.”
Psalm 103:22 or

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, O LORD my God, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with honour and majesty.” Psalm 104:1

The frame looks fabulous! What a blessing to see this fine work!
