My brother does a bit of home brewing so for his birthday I designed some logos for his beer, then had them printed and made some frames for them!
Pretty simple construction, chamfers and rabbeting done on the router. I built a miter sled a la Woodworking for Mere Mortals (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H00prACPflw) to cut the miters and glued it up with a clamping jig based on this project: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/86408
I tried gel stain for the first time and I kinda liked it – it brought out the grain in this plain white wood that normally doesn’t pop with other stains I’ve used. Finished with four goats of General Finishes satin gel topcoat.
