A Fly Swatter For The Shop

The flies have been terrible these past couple of weeks, since I never get around to going to the store and buying a fly swatter I decided to build one out of wood.

The swatter is 23 inches long, the head is 4 inches wide and 5 inches high, with the holes cut out in the shape of flies. I used 1/8 inch birch ply for the project, cut it out in my laser, glued the handle pieces to it, and stained it with a walnut stain.

I was concerned about how it would hold up, but it seems to work well, I have had a couple of hard swats on the workbench and it is holding up fine.

Very cool, looks like a new product line.

Nice That would leave cute little fly imprints on my kids butts when they are being bad.

Boy that sucker is tuff enough to take a good sized horse fly. (-; Nice creative approach to the problem.

Way cool, You can probably swat them outta the air too LOL.

I thought I had got bitten by a horse fly a couple weeks ago out in the shop and after my leg turning bright red the next day I went to the doc and turns out it was a black widow yea that wasn’t fun….

Yo ease back on the swing, looks like you took out a complete squadron in one blow and they went straight through !!

You got the whole lot by such a surprise they didnt get a chance to break formation.

They will take up some room in the cemetery!

Nice work!
