Box Elder root butl

This Box Elder Root Burl was dug 45 years ago along with others and was put in storage. I bought these several months ago and started turning these. This bowl is 15 inches across and 10 inches tall. Very Very dry wood. Will be glad when all this wood is used up Yes this was bleached with 2 part bleach

Guess you had a few hairy moments turning this one Ron, has a brittle look about it.

Not terribly brittle but was a very hard wood. Tear out and had to do some sanding

Nice job on that bowl, Ron. After bleaching do you plan to dye it?

Jim no dye. I only bleached it and brought it to that white look.
