I was asked by one of my daughter’s friends to make this outdoor wedding entrance door for her wedding this weekend.

I have never done anything like this before, and before I could think about it, I said sure, send me a picture of what you wand and i can make it. So off to pinterest I went, and was also given a picture of what she wanted. So after scavenging a local farmer’s place I got a few free barn wood pieces and some 3×12 pieces, and started to figure out how to make this. It was a little challenging to make it stand up by itself with no frame. I attached the doors with bolts through the top 3×12 board and used some brackets on the back of the doors with some steel pipe pounded in the ground. It was surprising solid and stands by itself really well.

The bride was happy today when we put it up, but tomorrow will be the test to see if it lasts overnight, and through the weeding. I said the warranty lasted until I left today, and I laughed. Needless to say I am bringing my ladder and tools to the weeding, just in case.

Never heard of a wedding entrance door, but it looks pretty cool. I’m sure she (and all the guests) will love it

These doors are popular for outdoor weddings in the west. It is like the entrance door to a church, all the guest enter the sitting area through these, then the bride will begin her walk down the aisle through through the doors, so it is somewhat of a focal point for the wedding.
