This was my first attempt of carving the bowl of the spoon completely by hand it was hard to stop tear out when i went with the wood grain,to stop this i had to go across the grain which worked great!,i really like the way it turned out.The spoon is Zebrano wood finished in food safe oil. This wood is really pretty!

Really great looking spoon…. especially for your first attempt.
