I have been very quiet on LJS due to our elderly aunt passing away from cancer. This is the casket for her ashes. Made from quilted Madrone, Bubinga and Quilted Maple. Inlay from Harewood and Cypress, quadrant fans from Poplar and sand shaded.
Cheers
Tobias

My condolences as well. I made a marquetry urn for my mother’s ashes and found the work a time filled with warm memories. I hope you had the same feelings of closeness when you built this one for your aunt.
I agree with Dennis that the marquetry is appropriate, perfect, and well done.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever seen.

It certainly communicates the love you have for your aunt, and is a worthy tribute.

God bless your family as you press on without her.
