Yeah I know it looks like red oak but it’s not. There has been a war in Ky. that dates back to the civil war about what is the state tree Poplar or Coffee Bean.
Every year our local Kiwanis club has a 2 day radio auction in May as a fund raiser. They ask local merchants to donate something for the auction. They came to me last year on Wed. evening and asked if I had anything for the auction which was Friday. I was holding onto this one Coffee bean board so I whipped up this table.
Aprons are attached to the legs with mortis and tenons. The tenons are pinned but from the back so you don’t see the pins.
I sprayed it with one coat of 50/50 precat and 2 coats of 75/25 precat
The table brought $125 at the auction for the Kiwanis club

Awosome job. Ya know, I really like the poplar. I know alot of people dont like using it for anything other that a secondary wood, but I really like the look of it.
