Fiddleback Maple Plate

Project by TedM posted 394 days ago 366 views 0 times favorited 8 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Here’s another plate that I just finished. It’s about 7” in diameter and about 1/4” thick at it’s thickess. It’s finished with EEE Cream and Shellawax.

Although the photo doesn’t show it off that well, the wood used is Fiddleback Maple. It’s gets a pretty cool wave action going when you rock it in the sunlight.

As I understand it, Fiddleback is sometimes called Curly though the bands or ripples are closer together on Fiddleback.

Anyway, a fun project! Thanks for looking!

Very nice. But are you sure that is 7 inches? If it is, your hand must be humongous!
