This is a Ooak Wood Carving of a Woodland Tree Scene. If you are looking for a little Woodland Wall Hanging, this could be yours! This is a Ooak Original Wood Carving that I call “Stand alone Pine”, a tree scene that I carved out of a piece of Big Leaf Maple Burl. It is really a great piece of wood with a whole lot of character. ! It depicts a lone Conifer Tree living life on a Woodland slope. There is a lot of detail in my tree carvings. It is hard to get a photograph that is anything like looking at the real thing. I’m not carving as many tree carvings. I love it when one is done!! I love holding one in my hands and looking at it close up. I am sooo grateful for being able to do what I do. :)

SHIPPING IS INCLUDED IN ALL OF MY CARVINGS!!

It measures 12 1/2” tall x 8 1/2” wide x 1” thick

The technique I use is called Pierced Relief. It is carved out of one piece of wood and nothing is added. I have been carving since 1971 and a tree was the first carving I did. I have always been stimulated to carve a resemblance of a tree out of a tree. My technique has evolved over all of these years to what you see here. I keep seeing ways to make things more life like. And I love a piece to look like it is in the middle of a story that each observer can make up. Sometimes a different story each time we look at it and sometimes the same one. I love giving a piece the feeling of action. Sometimes tranquil and sometimes playful. I love it all.

Wonderful once again.
I love your work Gary.
This one is no exception.

Bob.

Very nice I like how you get the different looks out of the same piece of wood. The rough and the smooth!
