Project Information
So I have started to learn timber framing and needed a box to house my tools in that I could take to a workshop and then lock up at the end of the day. I had about an hour to build it and was running low on steam, when it came to me, I have a crate from a TOW missile in the attic that would be perfect (who doesn't own one of these?). My thoughts are if you are going to have an anarchists tool chest you need to make it look like its owned by an anarchist!
A little work on removing the wire bracing and a few spare hinges, locks and scrap wood pieces and it was together. I will build a folding stand for it so I don't have to tie up two stools but it worked well.
I also fit a lot of tools in the box:
circular saw and 25' power cord
gloves, eyeglasses, hearing protection
tape measure, combo squares and framing square
bench plane, block plane, rabbet plane
two framing chisels, corner chisel and slick
granfors scandanavian axe
brace and auger bits
bits for my boring machine
oak mallet
a few more misc items
