Morris chair and footrest built for friends – my modified design (dimensions from WoodSmith)
QS – clear White Oak with African Ebony inlay and accents – Poly finish. I have built many of these chairs over the years, but this one is one of my favorites.

Beautiful. Would like to see some higher resolution pictures though. These are pretty small.

Great looking chair. Made a rocker like that once and it’s one of my favorite builds ever. Good job.

Very nice example of a classic design. A Morris chair is on my bucket list as well. What are you going to do about the seat area?

Thanks all! – Jon, I’ll take a couple high rez when the upholstery is done. Jumbojack – The client will do the upholstery, hopefully leather with down – I like the foam okay, but man I be the other would be comfy! I’ve posted these plans on Sketchup if anyone wants it…(just look under Schroeder) – .....gotta do in a rocker someday, that wood ROCK! (bahahaha…I’m tired…)

Very nice chair Schroeder. Well done.
In the 60,s this chairs was fashionable in our country. My mum and dad had one made out of beech. The reason that I mentioning this is that here a morris chair was called a rookstoel (smoke chair). If you are google (pictures) on “rookstoel” or “rookstoelen” you can see a lot of diffent copy,s.

Incredible work. A timeless design superbly executed. This is really an inspiring piece of work. A double thumbs up for posting the plans in sketchup for the rest of us mortals to marvel at.
