Project Information

Ribbons in the cutting boards started several years ago after seeing a similar design in a segmented woodturing. It has taken me this long,(a slow thinker) to develop the strategy for creating the design without endgrain or any center holes in the round plugs that are required. The process does chew up a lot of wood(waste), but I just had to try. Large plug/tenon cutters would make the process a lot easier and quicker, but I did not want to spend the coin for a few boards. There is blog about the process.

Patrone has a project called "ribbons" awhile ago, but the design and process are completely different.
