Ye its red oak.rustoleum american walnut stain.three coat armor seal and johnsons paste wax

Very nice bench. I use loose tenons on most of my projects and love them. I make the mortise with my homemade mortiser (http://lumberjocks.com/projects/101724) and it works fantastic.
