This isn’t my first project, but it is my first to post. This is my sheet goods storage. It is 2.5’ wide and 9’ tall with roughly two 11” sections (2 right compartments, top and bottom), far right being for full sheet goods on end; middle section top for half sheets and middle section bottom will be divided for quarter sheets. The left top and bottom sections are 8” inches wide each, I plan to add a pull out bin in the lower left section to store long cut-offs on end and the top left section will hold more half sheets and odd size pieces.. Also, I plan to edge band the front for a cleaner look. My shop is new and getting the lumber organized has freed up a lot of working space. In one of the pictures you can see the garage door track. I have just enough room to stand the sheet up-right and slide it into the rack.

UPDATE… adding a picture with the pull out bin assembled and ready to use. It just slides in and out as needed, it holds a lot of wood!

A great project that many of us need to complete. Can not have enough sheet good storage.

One suggestion. I would clamp the 8 foot sheets together to prevent them from taking a bow while standing on their edge for any length of time.
