Hey guys. I made a couple of these for Father’s Day and am just now getting to posting them. Made from some scrap walnut and cherry. Used this magnet:

and this bottle opener:

Finished in Shellac and Arm-R-Seal

Cool stuff! Really like the use of scrap materials.

Hi, I’m a co-founder of DropCatch, those look great! Always great to see someone drinking Deschutes as well.

Thank you for posting a picture of the back, not many people do, I have bottle openers and magnets sitting in my shop, I will eventually try making some of these for Christmas presents, I bought .25×1” N52 magnets, I am hoping 2 will be strong enough to hold it against a fridge door.

Kent, thanks for the kind words. Most people would not have the attitude you do towards others making these. I appreciate it.
Kevin, they do catch them every time. I do not think the magnet is overkill. When you put the magnet behind wood it loses some power. I think it is perfect.
Dave, I thought about putting it on a fridge, but even that magnet slips around.

I found the same source for the Magnets , they have just about any size and strength you can think of for any project that can use a magnet plus thier prices seem to very good as well.
Have your say...
