Project Information

This was a gift I made for my wife this past Christmas. I found the general idea for the box in Sketch-Up on a Google search. I then added my own touches and interpretations. It was dimensioned to my needs. The medallion on front was cut on my scroll saw. The box is made from Lacewood, had I to do it over again I would have used Mahoghany. The Lacewood cost me a small fortune. I used Birdseye Maple veneer to decorate the top. The bottom is white oak, stained to match (for better wearability than Lacewood).

Can't believe nobody has commented. Beautiful work done here. Love the contrast of the lacewood and birdseye maple. Well done !

Thank you very much. I was surprised at no comments too. I probably should have made the second photo the lead.

Only with glue but they're plenty strong. Just be careful of squeeze-out.

The medallion on front makes this a standout. Great design for all those sewing bobbles.
