Here is a sofa table I made for my in-laws this past winter. I was surprisingly able to build it with 2 2×4’s (excluding the top and shelves) and used only 4 screws and those were to mount the top to the frame using small rabbeted wooden blocks in slots on the frame. The ‘X’s are half-lapped and then doweled to the frame. The frame itself is all mortise and tenon. I still have my original sketchup drawings for it still, feel free to PM me if interested.

Nice table, Reece. What did you make the shelves out of ? What kind of stain is that ?

The tops are just pine panels I got from lowes on sale. My mother in law finished it with a poly urethane mix that has the stain and poly in one step and she wishes she did it the old fashioned way of staining and then doing the poly.

Yeah, Polyshades leaves much to be desired. It looks good from what I can see, though.
