OK, so normally I wouldn’t post something of this…utilitarian nature, but I was pretty proud of how fast I was able to complete it and how it was just what i needed. Anyway, I had my dado stack mounted for another project I was finishing up (i’ll post that one soon), and as i was taking it off the saw and getting frustrated trying to get it back into the cheap, plastic container it came in, i decided i was gonna make a box for this thing. So I started looking in the scrap bin and found what i needed. It’s a 3/4” plywood base with chip board sides. had a 5/8” bolt left over from another project that worked perfectly as the spindle. leftover brass knob and a couple pine strips to keep the lid on and we’re done! start to finish in about 20 min. It’s ugly, no doubt, but functional!

It works and you made good use of scrap. I say well done.

Much as I love pretty things for the shop … I never have time to make them. This is a necessary container for your tool … and you got back to doing more important things like making pretty things that more people will see than just you!

OSB rocks, I love the real wood of course but you can do anything with OSB A friend of mine hates carpet and he couldn’t afford hardwood so he did his entire house in OSB flooring, I thought he was crazy but it turned out really cool.

It’s an art and it looks great! I’m surprised that it is made of wood scrap.
