I made this headboard for our guest bedroom. A couple months ago, the wife and I decided to overhaul the room. There will be more project post to follow on this bedroom.

The headboard is made from poplar, finished with GF’s Snow White milk paint, love this stuff!! Topped off with GF’s high performance water based poly. My wife made the insert pieces with foam and fabric.

Hope you enjoy.

Nice job Lance. I have been working on a similar design with only a single padded panel. Would you be willing to share more detail about how you built the top pieces?
Thanks. Looking forward to seeing your future project posts.

Rick,

The top piece is made with 2 different size top boards, then I simple made my own molding at the router table and applied that, very simple design. I used glue and Festool domino’s to attached the top 2 pieces. For the small molding, I used 23 pin nails and glue. Good Luck & hope that helped.
