Lathe Stand

This was a pretty simple project. We moved recently and my lathe, which used to be bolted to my workbench, was homeless. I used some leftover lumber/plywood and a couple of 2×4s and some casters to make the stand. I painted it black so that the table would contrast with (most) turning blanks and make it easier to see while turning. Thanks for looking!

I have pretty much the same lathe. Love the stand, you gave me inspiration to make a new one.

Thanks, I too have the same Lathe which is in need of a new table. I was thinking of doing the offset design but will probably go with a butcher block design.

I have got the very same lathe from one of my brothers that he got in a package deal when he bought a shop full of equipment a few years ago. I was up at his house one weekend and ask if he still had the lathe and he dug it out from under an old work table. I took it to some guys where I work and they built me a nice metal table for it. As soon as I get over my back surgery I hope to try to turn some bowls. Something new for me, I have never tried a lathe before.
Good looking stand.

That’s just right for that lathe. Congratulations.

Thanks for the comments. Stanley, hope you’re back to it soon. I haven’t turned very much, but really like it. Sort of addicting.
