I “favorited” this project from ToyMakingDad and decided to make it for my grandson’s first birthday. The woodworking portion was simple yet fun. The biggest challenge was making sure the four strings were exactly the same length. I finally settled on clamping a plastic tie-wrap to the string to set the length, then tying a knot to hold it in place. Counterbores hid the knots and tie-wraps. Finished with mineral oil.

I was AMAZED at how long it runs! Merry Go Round

Never seen that before. Pretty clever. I assume the piece rotates as it goes down? Nice work.

Wow, it looks great! Love the way the wood grain shows and how you finished off the top of the toy. Super classy. Well done.
