I won last month’s bring back at my woodturning club, which means I have to provide the bring back this month. I pretty much turn pens or pen related items but wanted something a little different this time. I recalled seeing plans for a Salt & Pepper set in one of my old Deltagrams. So here is my rendition. Since I just got a midi-lathe they are a bit shorter and I decided to not hollow them from both ends as I was having a hard time fitting them. so went with the bottom plug concept.

Hoping they go over well at the meeting. Thanks for looking.

Very cool! I’ve been considering buying a mini-lathe to “test the waters”. Turning is a bit intimidating to me. Your salt and pepper shakers show what else can be done in addition to pens. Thanks for sharing!

Chris, how do the plugs work? I see the plug in photo #3 but can’t tell how it was done.

Neat!

I know a lot of small projects are harder to do than large ones.

Thanks All. They were well received and won by someone that is just an awesome turner. I was very happy with her compliment.

Bill the plugs are rubber stoppers from a Salt & Pepper set that WC sells. you drill a 1 1/4” hole and then a 1” hole and just pop them in.
