Relay for life

I was so bummed, I made two drums to be raffled off and silent auction for the relay for life cancer awareness event. I was so busy the week leading up to the Relay that I completely forgot to take pictures. This one was taken at 5:30 in the morning with the stadium lights on it so they just don’t look so hot (sorry).

So this one is a oak/walnut sound board on the top, and cabinet grade ply for the box. I then mask off the top and spray box with first color (light blue) after that mask it all off and draw on my graphics for my interpretation of BSU (go Boise) logo. Cut out the logo and spray down the dark blue. Remask the logo and repeat process for the orange splash on the corner. After its all done remove all masking and spray a clear coat over it all.

The one that I didn’t get pic’s of was purple and hammered grey. The graphics on that one had a purple ribbon for the sound hole and many other purple ribbons randomly running about it. Maybe whoever won it will put some pics up on my FB page since that is on the bottom of the drum, I’ll keep ya posting if so.

Anyway thanks for looking

A nice job because your heart is in the right place.
Don’t belittle the photos you did take as they tell the story!

Moment thank you, since my wife is a survivor it is very near a dear to my heart to help out at these events. Relay is a tough one for an old fat man like myself staying up all night isn’t something I normally do LOL. But the cause is worthy and the people are so much fun, we walk the track and play our drums some bring guitars and its just sooooooooo much fun. As far as BSU we are big fans too it really sucked to see Coach Peterson go to WA but we will endure and we wish him the best over there, except when we play him of course hee hee

oldnovice Ralbuck thanks for the kind words and yes its a great cause, everyday my wife is alive is one more day we beat that crappy disease

That drum looks awesome! Great job on it, and awesome to be supporting Relay too. Takes a lot of coffee to make it all night, but they are fun events.
