I made this bed upon request from my Big Blue-Eyed, blonde-hair, how-can-I -ever-say no-to granddaughter. It is for a standard sized (not sure what standard-size is in Barbie speak) Barbie doll that “Just must have a bed to sleep in, Grandpa”. The plans were from one of my scroll saw magazines. The instructions were really well laid out which made it super easy to assemble. The magazine finished bed did not have any of the cloth material on it, it was wood painted white. I hot glued the fabric to the wood and started getting into it, added some lace, made a mattress and added more lace, then added lace around the bed frame. I spray painted it white with a $10 sprayer I got from my local Woodcraft store. It worked amazingly well, once I got the hang of it.
When my granddaughter first asked me to make it, I looked at all of the cutting I had to do and tried to show other easier projects but she would have none of it ha-ha. I had to cut the head board 3 different times because my scanner or software shrunk the printed image slightly (lesson learned) I scanned it with a different scanner.
Anywho, it was well worth it and she loves it and that’s all that matters!
Hope you guys & gals like it.
