This is the first desk made for loom band use that I know of. It is made from 3/4” Russian Birch. It has a white enamel oil base paint. I would like to know your thoughts about it before I start a production run. To see a video of the desk go here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WzPAIW0DIs

Thanks deon, It’s not delicate at the bottom. It is made from russian birch 13 ply plywood. you couldn’t break it by hand if you tried.

Great design, I can see that being useful for lots of different crafts (beading, scrapbooking, model making, anything that uses lots of little parts). The stool looks like it is the same height as the lower shelf – will that be enough leg room to work comfortably at the desk?

Good luck with this.

I gotta admit that I had to look up what a Loom Band is … It seems it is a big thing in Florida, and other areas; you just might have a market there … I wish you good luck with that desk.

leafherder, this desk was designed for loom bands but, you are right it does have other uses. The stool height in relation to the desk is good for ages 5 to adults. Thats why there is no pencil drawer. A very tall person would not be comfterble at this desk. Thank you for your comments.

Grumpymike, it is a big thing with kids and adults. I like it because it opens up new doors for kids to be creative and it gets there brains working again instead of playing computer games all day. what surprises me is it is popular with boys also. Thank you for your comments.

All right this is a really cool idea. Great design too!

I’ve got two daughters and they’d both go crazy to have this in the crafting area. Good luck with the production pieces – if you can get the price right you’ll definitely have a market.

You might want to incorporate a display rack or pedestal – (a rod roughly the width of your wrist) where the artists can display finished bands. I’d go with some bright paint colors to try to aim at the 6-12yr old girls market.

Again great idea and great piece. Good luck!
