Project Information

These were made for my Daughters. They both said they liked the color blue. Blue wood is hard to find, so I chose Ponderosa Knotty blue pine. The dimensions are 11-1/2"W X 9"HX 5-1/2" thick. The layers are blue pine, white pine, alder and maple.

The finish is Arm-r-Seal sanded with 1200 grit between coats and finished with 4/0 steel wool and paste wax.

There is a small hole in the back to push the drawer forward for entry

I like the contrast of the wood. If they like the color blue that much, you might try using food color on the wood…who knows, it might look nice

Too bad you don't live near the Rockies; we've got more beetle kill pine than anybody knows what to do with. The colors can be quite beautiful.
