I have seen variations of these around the internet and decided my shop could use a little more volume (not much tho, since the shop time I get is after the kids are asleep)

I had this small piece of spalted maple that I thought would be a good fit.

The speaker works suprisingly well!

@dakremer—Its definitely a noticeable difference!
Not extrodinary but enough that I will be using it consistently.

If you are thinking of making one, just be sure that the inside resembles a trumpets horn, starting small and flaring out. If the inside is just hollowed and/or doesnt taper in to the back where the iphone sits you will change the sound to be like its in a cave.
