Maryland Themed Ash Mash Paddle

This was a commissioned piece and was given as a birthday gift – both the order-er and the birthday boy are very good friends of ours. Bonus!

The paddle design was pretty much described in the first email I received with the order. After picking the correct wood as well as the fonts and other minor stuff, I was able to get to work!

The paddle measures around 42” of 1 inch thick solid Ash. I picked a piece with some really nice grain patters for this one.

The wording in the handle was done on my CNC Router. The three logos in the paddle area were cut on my scroll saw.

A soak in food-safe mineral oil finished the paddle.

This was actually completed a few months ago, but I was forced to wait to post this until he received it this morning.

Really like the grain in this paddle it almost looks like cedar. Nice scrolling, too! (:
