Project Information

I made this work bench about a month ago. Its made of European beech, with a 3'' thick work surface. The bench's design is based on Phil Lowe's bench featured on Finewoodworkings web site. the drawers have dovetail construction, with a book matched cherry door panel. The bench is extremely heavy, I guessing its about 500 pounds. I am currently moving the shop from Calhoun GA to Grass valley CA. So my beloved work bench had to be put in storage for a bit. But Im really looking forward to what my next shop is going to be like!

Very nice bench. I have wanted to do one for quite some time, but I just have not been able to drop that amount of money on that amount of wood in one shot. I currently have about half the wood I need for my top, and the legs, so hopefully soon….. Thank you for posting, nice elegant bench.
