It has been a good while since I have posted anything. Here is a checker board table for a very special friend. The checker board part is walnut and maple and the rest of the table is red oak.

The oak works very nice with the walnut and maple play field! Any thoughts on making the play pieces? Glad to see the added drawer. Its a shame when the drawer is overlooked sometimes. good safe place to store game pieces.
Thanks for showing this to all of us!

Thanks for the comment, I have a long ways to go before I can make the checkers. I have just got an old lathe up and going that I got from one of my brothers. Got a long ways to go on that. Going to have back surgery on Tuesday and I will be out of commission for about 12 weeks.

Very nice looking board. I like the use of the different woods together.
