A little larger valet box for me… Spalted maple & walnut. About 9” wide, 6.5” high & 4.5” deep. Finished with Arm-R-Seal (5 coats).
This time I took some photos of “in process” showing the pieces cut & then glued (except I keep the back panel off until I’ve finished the inside of the box drawer openings). It’s pretty easy to see the cut lines before sanding & finishing, but I try to hide them as much as I can following any grain or figure in the wood.
I’ve mentioned before that on some boxes like this one, I make a complete cut either vertically or horizontally so I get a tight fit when things are glued together. With some woods & a thicker wall I don’t seem to be able to squeeze it together as tight as I desire.
Thanks for looking.

A beautiful valet.
Amazing spalted maple.
Great job hiding your cut lines and the way the spalting flows across the drawers.
