I’ve made a lot of cutting boards over the years but these two have several “firsts” for me. The smaller board is my very first end grain board. I have been reluctant to try these because of the extra steps involved in making them. I now see the appeal, the design possibilities are endless. This won’t be my last end grain board. Now that I’m in the club please let me in on the secret handshake. The other board has a hole in it and I designed it to so that I can process vegetables over the sink, washing and cutting in one operation. The feet on this one prevents the board from sliding laterally on the sink. Finished w/ General Finishes salad bowl finish. The woods are maple, cherry, walnut, purple heart, the feet on the small board I turned from mahogany.

I see that sink sitter as another step up the evolution ladder, Bondo. I don’t have a garbage disposal, but I can see quite a few people wanting this type. Well done!

A lot of eye appeal with these. Great idea to see it fit over the sink. I’m still not in the club.

Nice work! The end grain boards can really suck ya in…...and I like the feet idea on the sink board, pretty clever….

-- Jeff - I have not failed. I've just found 10,002 ways that won't work.

these turned out really nice, i like the one with the hole, that is a cool way to cut up the veggies, and slide the off cuts into the sink…that would be a happy place to stand and work…really nice design…
