Made these for a client. Will be picked up later today. Who says you can’t make money selling outdoor furniture. These go for $700.

Thanks for looking.

Yes. I made one of the Popular Mechanics chairs and found a better way to put it together but I kept the long sweeping back they used. Very popular design and a pretty large chair.

Where did you get the cedar? I am in the Houston area and I can find aromatic cedar, which isn’t the right species for outdoor furniture, or that junk they sell at the big box stores for fences, but thats about it. Is it western cedar? Got a resource for that?

David705, I get my western red cedar from Lowes. I either use their dimensional cedar, like 1×4’s or I use cedar 5/4 decking untreated. Lowes is the only place I know of where you can get cedar 5/4 untreated.

David705, I’m in Magnolia. You can find all the cedar you need at Lucas Cedar just north of Conroe in Willis. http://lucascedar.com

Very nice chairs you built Russell. Those are on my list of things to build. I might add something that I don’t see on yours and that is a small fold out table on the side for drinks or what ever.

Russell,

Did you apply any stain/finish? They look beautiful!

Really cool Russell. I have made the single chairs (quite rare down here in Australia) but never the two seaters… Must be about time!
