Talk about last minute…
Yesterday morning i completed the gift box by brushing on one coat of Boiled linseed oil. She’s not wet, but could use some more dry time.
Otherwise all done.
I ended up staining it with Minwax redwood. In the past I was not happy with the finish linseed oil gave. On this project- I brushed it on, waited a little, then used a clean cloth to wipe excess. I have to say that I very much like the look of this box. Too bad it’s going to another home.
I hope they enjoy it! and thanks for all your comments.

Very nice, well done. I know what it’s like to give away a project that you are proud of and would like to keep. These are some of the best. I’m sure the recipients will love it.

I’m with Brian – love that grain! Good selection. The keys in the miters look really good too. I like how you angled the upper two.

A very good wedding box. The lid is very nicely designed. No wonder you will feel sorry for parting with it. But you can always make more.

Beautiful box. Very nice grain on the side, and a strong lid panel. That’s a great gift.
