Sometimes you finish a project and stand back and say to yourself, (self ) this one came out pretty darn good. I had visions of what I wanted when I started, but wasn’t sure if it would turn out as it did . After making the chevron main ring out of Walnut , Yellow heart, and Curly Maple. I then decided to use Hickory and Walnut for the rest of the project. I was just about done turning and decided to ask my best critic,The Wife, if I should put the top ring on with Yellow heart, and I’m glad she said yes. The job was completed with several coats OB shine juice. (A mixture of BLO, SCHELLAC, AND DENATURED ALCOHOL)

Looks good, I want to make a segments vase hopefully soon but since I’m only a few weeks into turning it’ll be a little bit. On the stuff I have made so far I’ve been using the shine juice, seems like a good finish.

Have your say...
