This project is my first chip and dip bowl. It is walnut 2.5 in tall x 10 in wide. Finish is food safe bee’s wax/ mineral oil. The marble is a project pack piece from woodcraft , the recess for it sits a 1/2 in from the lip of the bowl.

Very nice. Was this made on your lathe or with a router?

All thanks for the comments.
Hawaiilad the bowl was turned on my Nova DVR Lathe. It was roughed out with a faceplate attached and then reverse mounted with a tenon in my chuck to hollow out and shape the inside. Once the bowl was finish sanded the tenon was turned away to provide a flat bottom for stability while in use.

Have your say...
