This is a spoon I made for my mother-in-law. I went to a carving show last October and there were some spoons there that attracted my interest so I bought a book on love spoons, came home and put together a design and went at it. I’ve only done 1 ball n cage with “1” ball. If your not familiar with love spoons the balls represent the number of children. I finished it around the middle of May and gave it to her memorial weekend. The wood is sassafras. It’s about 12” long.

I didn’t use any sandpaper on the balls. Just a carving knife.
