I wanted to post the last up-date on my Wrens but I needed a wood project to show. So here is a tree full of boxes, a copy from Joe Weaver about a week ago. Made this while waiting for glue and varnish to dry. I loved his idea and hope he will take my copy as flattery for his work and idea. My box is BKP right on a big knot.
Anyhow, the birds were in their nest when I got to the shop and got fed their breakfast. Then one by one they jumped to the ground where they scattered throughout the shop. Later with mom and dad calling, they all huddled together for lunch and then adios. It was neat to watch them from nest building to eggs to babies and then flying away. It took only a little more than 2 weeks. Hope they’ll remember for next year and come back.
This will be the last bird up-date and next project, already started, is a BKP coffee table using some beautiful wood from the BKP King, Monte Putman. I’ve already ordered another shipment from him as I will need more to finish the table. That should take me about 10 days as I am currently selling some of my Bonsai plants on Ebay and am busy photographing and advertising them. Sold 3 last week for a very nice amount, enough to pay Monte.
Thanks to y’all who followed the bird saga, it was fun.
