It’s never too early to start with the Christmas presents/projects. This is Sue Mey’s pattern of a snowflake wreath. It’s made from 1/2” antique chestnut (I have a lot of this… :-) ) and it only took 5 hours to cut out. The added bonus was that I only broke one scroll saw blade in the process. All cuts done with a #1 spiral blade.
I plan to make a few of the wreaths and sell them at a craft show this winter, although the ones I make for that will most likely be made out of red oak. I have a pretty good supply of wide boards there, too…
After two hours of cutting, I really needed to take a break, as I started to get a little sloppy with my cuts. Went back a few hours later and finished it. I will probably put a coat or two of a gloss poly on it.
A fun project, and there were 10 patterns in the package, so I’ll end up doing most of them before too long.
