I finally completed the island using mainly Cherry , with the top made of Ash .so far I have used Tung oil on the Cherry ,mineral oil on the top(Ash) which in my opinion made the ash blend .well, better than I expected.

looks great and very functional. I like the fact that is not so large as to limit space in your kitchen.
