The cutting board is just an excuse to up-date my shop birds. All 5 are alive and well. The parents never seem to run out of feeding them big green caterpillars and the babies are growing fast. All are fairly feathered out, eyes are open and nest is crowded. I think they will probably leave on their own next weekend. They’ll be missed. A number of neighbors, friends and relatives drop by to check on them nearly daily. The parent birds seem very accustomed to me being close to the nest working with the belt sander and still occasionally land on my shoulders before hopping to the nest.
BTW, the new board is about 11” square x 1 1/2” thick of Beetle Kill Pine, Flame Box Elder, Hemlock and Black Walnut. Nothing fancy, just an easy board of scrap but it is pretty. I’m building up stock for Christmas presents later this year. I am now finished with all my little projects and ready to start on our BKP coffee table. This will be fun. It’s to be 40” long x 22” wide and 18” tall with 1 1/2” thick top, all out of the beautiful BKP from Monte. I’ll be posting pictures in about a week.
And a belated Happy Father’s Day to all you guys. I got my usual HD gift cards from my kids so I get to spend more time in my “toy store”.
