Been making some skateboards lately! All of these decks are “planks” made from a single 2×4 each. You can see the way they are glued up in the first picture. The hardware (trucks, wheels, bearings) was purchased from Amazon. These longboards are for sidewalk cruising, not bombing down hills or doing tricks so the wood for the decks should be plenty strong, time will tell. I have one more that I am making for myself so I can skate with the kids. Mine will be a bit fancier made from hardwoods but that is another project for later, when it is finished.

Thanks for looking and Happy Father’s Day!

Time well spent. Be careful when you’re testing those things. LOL

How did these boards hold up? I am looking to make my own and trying to decide on pressed baltic birch ply or hardwoods. I’m leaning towards the cruiser hardwood styles.

-- Phillip- Measure twice, cut onc.... Hey look, it's rustic.

Have your say...
